David Pogue, omnipresent tech writer for the New York Times, covers the Nikon Coolpix S800C and Samsung's Galaxy Camera -- both *Android* camera.

As he says, these aren't quite well thought out yet, but what might interest backpackers is this is a big leap forward towards that one-gadget-to-rule-them-all.  Oddly, the biggest missing element is an actual phone (but maybe it can run a VoiP app?).
