Re: Sawyer Water Filter

I don't mind the fiddle factor, I am simply putting forth the proposition, that if someone had to absolutely rely on a Sawyer, it may not be the best option.  Many of the places I go, I don't even particularly need the filter system, but my point, is that if I had to rely on it, for safety, for prevention of critters, for having working parts and adequate bags, then it fails. Reading reviews of it a year ago or more, there was a much different sense of it than now. The bags weren't known to break yet, because they hadn't been it seems in mass use, now it is known and I am not certain I am comfortable with paying say 70 bucks for something that I have to then go out and pay 15 - 25 bucks more. Now that 70 is closer to 100 bucks.
