I'm don't do much chattering here to begin with but just to make some jealous I'm still on the trail every 2-3 weeks with some friends for at least an overnight trip. There is something to be said for the weather in So. Cal.
I just returned for an overnighter. Temps in the high 70's at 1000'. 6 miles up the mountain at 4500' it was in the mid 60's with a few remaining snow patches, clear sky and a campsite all to ourselves. The trail head is a 15 minute drive from my home in Pasadena.
But I do admit to planning the longer spring and summer hikes in between my shorter jaunts.
