I'd be interested in learning what successes hikers have had with waterproofing any of their footgear. I remember a friend of mine who heated numerous cans of snow seal and soaked his boots in so much of the resulting goo that he had to spoon it out of the part where his foot went into the boot. It worked for a while, then leaked! And I remember one long trip where I finally took a pocket knife and cut the Gore-Tex lining out of the boots because they had torn and were giving me blisters. What works well for you and your boots? I'd be excited to know. Thanks, Don L.
