Re: No backpack fits me

Hopefully someone can help - I was fitted incorrectly for years as a 5'4" woman. My nape of neck to top of hips is 17" and I was told originally it was 15" and lived under that assumption for 16-17 years! And spent a lot of money on backpacks looking for the "right" fit based on that incorrect information. 

You may end up finding someone who makes backpacks create one just for you because you're unable to find one in a store.

I have nerve sensitivity in my spine in one location and cannot tolerate pressure in that region. The packs with the flat frame sheet cause horrible spasms. The only pack I found that works for me is the REI Flash 45. (Unisex/Men's Medium). The shoulder straps are set apart an inch too wide, but I'm on the AT right now and carrying 28+ pounds (recommended 25 - tops 30) with no back spasms. :-) 

Keep looking ... Check out vendors at Trail Days & other similar venues.  Look at some of the smaller USA manufacturers of backpacks. 

Or maybe someone can refer you to a good customized seamstress (or male counter-part).
