Alina, the frame I'm using is an old Camp Trails external frame.  It's the
first pack I ever bought and I bought it new in the early '90s.  It's an
aluminum frame.  Lightweight but strong.  The pack bag was a) small, and b)
heavy, so I took that off.  The pack as I have it now (frame, harness, hip
belt, and stuff sacks) is highly customizable and can carry as much or as
little as I need.  I used it on my AT thru-hike in '09 and have been using
it on every trip since then.  I've been selling off all my internal frame
packs as they are not comfy on my back.

If you want to find an old frame pack, check Craigslist and garage sales.
 Just remember that it's difficult to tell a frame's weight with a pack bag
on it.  The pack bag on my Camp Trails pack weighed almost twice what the
frame, harness and hip belt weigh, but it took taking it apart to figure
all that out.
