Hi all, There is a new company producing filters for back country use. Here is the appropriate link for the filter: http://purificup.com/index.php/natural-water-purifier-green.html It uses an *absolute* 1 micron filter, which has a larger pore diameter than others(the Sawyer "Squeeze" is about .02 microns in micro-tubes), but, unlike the Sawyer it also removes heavy metals (lead, copper, cadmium, mercury), organics (trihalomethane (THMs), organic solvents, pesticides) and other compounds. This will last for about 25 gallons and costs ~$60US. My thoughts only . . . Jdm
