Cara posted Lin exactly what I would have.  She beat me to it.
 
That said, [email protected] is a members only list.  Women have to apply and (usually) cite a referral from a member.  I was invited many years ago after one of my "spew your coffee all over the keyboard" replies.
 
Women who want to join the list might want to send one of us a PM, off list, so the member can "talk" to them a bit, then refer.

She should join the WomenHiker's forum on YahooGroups.  Then she can ask 
any question and get any answer - pretty much literally.
