I've had the same experience with my piece of Tyvek, except I've not had it
quite so long.  But it's been a good piece of gear and has held up very
well, and I've never had issues of water seeping through it.  I have well
over 1000 AT miles on it, along with hundreds of non-AT miles, and probably
close to 400 nights of use, all told.  A hiking buddy of mine is looking
for a lighter-weight alternative to what he currently carries and has been
coveting my precious Tyvek, so I thought I'd try to find the person I
bought from before.  Finding Tyvek from a construction site isn't nearly as
easy as it used to be.
