A few days after a snowfall in the Sierras, the snow often turns to "Sierra=
 cement" due to the layers of freeze-thaw crusting. I have small 22 inch MS=
R Lightning Ascent snowshoes which work very well for my 160 lbs+pack. Thes=
e curvy snowshoes might work even better for walking on packed snow. Howeve=
r, I would try them before I would buy. My concerns are that the curve shou=
ld be shallower. As shown, they raise your center of gravity and throw off =
your balance significantly. It appears that one cannot rest with these on, =
because you are constantly balancing front to back. Getting them off looks =
inconvenient but the speed gain in walking would probably be worth the hass=
le. I also wonder if the snow would build up between the foot and the sole;=
 that is probably a function of the materials ability to shed snow. MSR Lig=
htnings do this well.=20
If these come to market, let us know. I want to see some up close.
