Hi all,
As a recently accepted Trail Ambassador for Gossamer Gear, I have to decid=
e what pack to get from them. I have a couple other packs, the older MiniPo=
sa (obsolete,) the new Murmur, a second hand G4. (The old G5 finally died, =
the entire bottom ripped out when a rock broke away on a descent.) My daugh=
ter still has, and uses her Sil G5. Several other items...I really liked th=
e older NiteLite 3/4 pads...
Anyway, from 35L to 50L, is the range I currently use for the past 4-5 yea=
rs. (I have a dozen other packs...) I was considering the Mariposa, because=
I lack a 70L pack that I can carry for long trips. But, I fit everything I=
need into a Murmur for two weeks when solo. Three weeks plus fishing gear =
I get out of the MiniPosa (it works a bit better for fishing because the le=
ngth with the extension collar is greater.) I would likely get 5 weeks out =
of a Mariposa. I haven't been on that length of a hike in about 5 years. I =
usually don't do enough fishing to bother with gear *just* for fishing. The=
Gorilla would be a replacement for the MiniPosa. But it would lack the thi=
rd side pouch like the MiniPosa/Mariposa has. The canoe trips all use UL ge=
ar, except for the PFD and paddle. Next Friday, I will be heading out to a =
few lakes, maybe I will be doing more fishing.=20
Anyway, I was wondering what pack to order. Any thoughts would be welcome.
