I'm not sure about this line: "[Police traffic Sgt] Maples Maples said the bicyclist should have been able to see Smith from 420 feet away." Arlington is a hill, and it turns right at Brewster. Lee Thursday, June 7, 2012 A 92-year-old woman died after she was hit by a bicyclist while crossing a street outside the crosswalk near her El Cerrito home, police said Thursday. Mary Jean Smith was crossing Arlington Boulevard at Brewster Drive in her hillside neighborhood when she was hit by a 57-year-old man riding a bike about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said.
