Catellus has been very bike-friendly throughout its time in Alameda, The Alameda Landing traffic patterns reflect extensive conversations
between members of BikeAlameda and the design team over many years and the results will show it...

Granted, it's still a shopping center with a big box, but we made some dfferences that helped...

> City of Alameda, CA – The official groundbreaking ceremony for Target in the future Alameda Landing retail center will take place Wednesday, July 18, 2012. It will be held at 11:30 a.m. near the intersection of Mariner Square Loop and Marina Village Parkway (look for the signs, large tent and convenient parking).
>
> This groundbreaking is the kick-off for the first phase of a 23 acre shopping center known as Alameda Landing. The 291,000 square foot shopping center will be anchored by the new Target store. The new 139,000 square foot target store will open in October 2012 in time for the holiday season. The second phase of the center will include a variety of stores, boutiques and restaurants and cafe's. The well-designed center will include outdoor seating areas, pedestrian connections and plenty of parking for bicycles.
>
> “This center will be a great addition to Alameda and we are especially excited to have Target be our first retailer to anchor the center. Target is known as a strong, innovative retailer and an outstanding civic citizen due to their support if community giving. We are pleased that they will be opening in Alameda next fall and look forward to welcoming them to our community,” stated Mayor Marie Gilmore.
>
> “We are excited about the economic impacts of this project for our community. In addition to the construction jobs, the new Target store will create over 200 positions for team members and will provide sales taxes to our community.” stated Community Development Director Lori Taylor.
>
> Attendees include Mayor Marie Gilmore, The Catellus Company, Alameda City Council, City officials, and community members.
