In my sad suburban community of Antioch the police logs report that in the past couple of weeks, right near where I live 1. A cyclist was robbed at gunpoint. 2. A dog walker was robbed at gunpoint.

My new bike commuting plan is to run red lights at night if I don't see cars, and ride like hell. 

While I never used to run reds, and still have no plans to do so in the daylight, or with traffic present, I'm going to make my bicyclist life safer by blasting through them at night.
