[Ebbc-Talk] SUPPORT AB1193: CALLS FOR SAME DISCRETION TO BE USED IN DESIGNING BIKEWAYS AS IS USED IN DESIGNING LOCAL STREETS, ROADS, AND HIGHWAYS

The current Caltrans Highway Design Manual precludes most kinds of protecte=
d bikeways.  This bill would change that.

"Passage of this bill would usher in a new era of bikeway development in th=
is state. Californians of diverse ages and abilities will find bicycling a =
reasonable and safe way to get around. Communities will more easily be able=
 to take advantage of the windfalls in health and livability and economy th=
at almost always follow the development of protected bikeways."
