As someone who lives or works in Berkeley, I know you=92re aware of what a =
critical issue parking is, in so many ways. Tomorrow night, we have an op=
portunity to move forward with innovative solutions for our city and I want=
ed to make sure you knew about it.

Will you join me at this City Council Work Session in support of goBerkeley?

goBerkeley City Council Work Session
Tuesday, June 11, 5:30 =96 6:45 p.m.
City Council Chambers
2134 Martin Luther King Jr. Way

Two years ago, TransForm began working with Berkeley city staff and leaders=
to propose goBerkeley, an innovative program that combines demand-responsi=
ve parking pricing, universal transit passes, car-sharing incentives, real-=
time signs and more.

Now the pilot project is nearly ready to go, after a few more choices and a=
pproval by the Berkeley City Council. No Council action is expected tomorr=
ow, but this Work Session may very well determine whether the City goes ahe=
ad with the parking changes planned for September 2013.

We know we can fix the parking crunch -- which makes drivers crazy and inhi=
bits so much good planning -- by reducing the amount of demand for parking =
in the first place, and then making dramatically better use of the existing=
spaces. goBerkeley will do just that.

While the Council has received mostly positive feedback so far, parking alw=
ays generates strong opinions. We aren=92t sure what the public or City Co=
uncil will say or do tomorrow night, so TransForm supporters can help ensur=
e that the City Council continues to keep goBerkeley moving forward.

If you=92re comfortable making a brief public statement - it can be as shor=
t as a 10 second "I support this program" - that would be great. You can a=
lso just come to listen and learn more. Click here for the full packet of =
information about the Work Session.

Thanks and I hope to see you there!

Your neighbor in Berkeley,

Stuart
