 ey. The police however are of the opinion that the person who purchased the bike off the thief is
 now the legal owner as it was "bought in good faith" ie full value was paid (police wont tell me what sum was paid) and for the offence of recieving stolen property to to have been committed the purchaser would for example have to have paid ten quid for it in a pub car park. This second part I agree with but I cant see how the bike is no longer mine because it has been stolen and sold. If the purchaser has a claim it should be against the thief, not a right to keep my bike.
I feel that as I bought the bike from a reputable bike shop and not on Ebay I am the one who bought it in good faith. It will continue to be my property until I sell it, regardless of how many times it is sold on following the theft. The bike is virtually irreplacable as T5's are no longer made plus it had moifications personal to me. A new T6 I bought doesent come close and I hardly ride it, unlike my T5 which has toured France & Holland, been ridden Lands End to John o Groats, toured the west coast of Scotland and Outer Hebrides and  was carried on my shoulders for 2 days across the Parph to Cape Wrath... amongst many other tours... and been used to commute to work on every day. There's only the main frame & 5 speed hub left of the original bike, front frame and rear triangle and every other component have been ridden to destruction and not only replaced but upgraded as far as possible
 . It was stolen at its best.
The reason I have posted to this list is that the innocent purchaser is somewhere in Scotland and so I ask readers to keep an eye out for my bike and contact me with any news of sightings or its location.
