I first read Dale's posts on the XP mailing list a while back. I was
amazed by how clear and concise his answers were. Since joining the XP
mailing list, I have spent a fair bit of time reading the books and
articles that are suggested there. Resistance as a Resource was one such
article which I really enjoyed. I have been checking his site from time
to time looking for more articles and saw a link to this list.

I'm excited. I read a lot, including a lot of email. I have already
learned quite a bit from the members of this list via their
contributions to the XP mailing list, and hope to learn more.

I like discussion. I am currently in the MBA program at The Ohio State
University, where I learn quite a bit of theory. I really enjoy learning
about what people do in the real world, and then I can try to mesh the
theory with those experiences. I currently work as a contractor in IT
for a public utility in Columbus that has quite a bit of resistance. I
am trying to decide how much effort to put into improving my workplace.

Since everyone else seems to be including their MB types, I should
mention that I am an ENTP. I have been married to my beautiful best
friend, Jen, for almost three years. She is currently a medical student
at OSU. In just over a year, we will both complete our second degrees
from the university (and I will become the Mr. part of Doctor and Mister
Mangino) Hopefully I will be able to pursue a Ph.D. once my wife gets
through school. I like to ride a motorcycle, read books and work in the
garden. Finally, I really like to learn. There are some things I do
well, but a whole lot of things I don't. I would love feedback on what I
can do better. That really sums up my reason for being here, to learn to
be a more effective communicator.
