James, good morning. So you feel a certain resistance to entering your email address in to web pages that you feel are mysterious? Well, given the amount of "spam" that floods in to our mailboxes daily, I do not blame you for feeling resistant to an invitation to join forces -- to help create cultures of courage. The mission of the Center for Positive Change is to help create cultures of courage--places where people develop courage to prosper as part of the environment in which they live and work. By "joining forces" I mean working together to help people: accept uncertainty as part of life, evaluate real risks, change obsessive thoughts, break free of dissonance and restore inner harmony, release tensions that, generally, arise from personal dishonesty; I mean teaming up to help people: improve tolerance for frustration, develop healthy self-acceptance, learn to forgive, connect with others and create meaning, learn to to be flexible, and more. In other words, join forces to help people: become courageous beings. See, I believe that modern life is filled with unknowns and uncertainties, which breeds insecurity. Since 9/11, people do not feel safe. Naturally, people are searching for ways to help themselves feel safer and more secure. I believe the mission of the Center for Positive Change can serve as a healthy alternative to the escalation of violence -- being courageous is the first step to positive change.
