Hi Lowell, > I did my first talk on the Satir change model prior to reading > Dale's paper. I then had that mildly deflating feeling of > thinking I was innovating, only to realize that many had been > there before. I've learned to love when that happens. For one thing, it provides some validation for the way I'm thinking. As part of learning about resistance, I developed a model of motivation. A year or two later, I was dismayed, then delighted, to find the same model described (in different words) in Edward Lawler's "Jossey-Bass classic" book /Motivation in Work Organizations/. My parenthetical "in different words" is significant, I think. I'm glad I developed my model before reading Lawler's. I can speak more clearly about the model because of the work I put into developing it. > If this community figured our how to go beyond-the-list, I > believe it would flourish in great ways. I'd love to hear ideas about how to do that. Dale -- Web: http://www.dhemery.com Weblog: http://www.dhemery.com/journal (Conversations with Dale) ------------------------ Yahoo!
