2003 Golf ALT symptoms - any other possibilities?

hi all my sister’s 2003 Golf TDi is all of a sudden showing battery light intermittent, with intermittent clicking/bearing-getting-ready-to-go noises from up in the alternator area (noise happens in sync with the batt light) I threw a charger on it and the batt was at 12.4v and 75% took it up to 100% and 13.8 on overnight trickle I assume her alternator is getting ready to STB is there anything else that would create these symptoms? thanks for any suggestions, Rolf in MA _______________________________________________ Vwdiesel mailing list [email protected] http://www.audifans.com/mailman/listinfo/vwdiesel
