Fw: remove bad diesel

I finally got my 81 caddy started after all these months. It turned out the couple year old diesel in the tank is bad preventing it from starting/running. So now i need to get rid of a half tank of bad fuel in the tank. This is the first time I am doing this so I have few questions.I've disconnected the fuel lines by the tank to drain it. How do I remove fuel in the input and return lines that have upside down U shape to trap the fuel in them? Afterwards, how do i get the fuel in them without air trap in them? Do i need to flush the tank or lines with something?
