Nah, still need the BFH but I'd just hit on the face of the drum, around the rim. Not terribly hard, just shocking blows to break up rust. If it breaks doing that, then better now than on the road. :-)

When I parked the truck, I was afraid of the drums rusting to the shoes. So, I intentionally did not set the parking brake. I have not looked underneath to see if the cables move or not.I thought of the BFH idea but the drums are cast iron and I'm afraid of damaging/breaking them. Maybe a rubber mallet would work instead of the BFH?
