but regardless of whether or how the nationality of
the matthew & hunter group is ever finally resolved
there does appear to be one more island east of the
loyalty group that is of undisputed french & or new
caledonian nationality
named ile walpole & situated in 168 degrees & 57
minutes of east longitude
so its 12nm of territorial seas must extend france a
few minutes beyond the 169th meridian of east
longitude
even if it cant legally project an eez beyond that
as it is apparently just as uninhabited &
uninhabitable as matthew & hunter are

& tho this map does include all 3 of these islands
within the french eez

& shows it extending as far east as about 174 degrees
east longitude
with even a hypothetical fiji france vanuatu eez
