afirtm on google earth

this one is a little more difficult because the hari
rud river keeps moving about as it carries both afir &
irtm along its thalweg
per the treaties or ibs interpretation thereof plus
the soviet topo

& i couldnt positively identify the main stream on the
satpic

but fortunately the aftm convergent is a stable
demarcated land border
& it was possible to plot its dry terminus on the
above topo 
at about n lat 35d36m22s & e long 61d16m30s
& to then probe for that geoposition on google earth
with my mouse pointer
which resulted in the attached estimated wet tripoint
position

again please look for the little red square at the end
of the short measuring line 
which extends in this case southwest from the
erroneous google overlay tripoint

however
given all the possible variables including the wildly
meandering river 
i am not at all confident of this position to within
the usual 100 meter range 
but might want to hedge that up to as much as a full
kilometer in this special case

& lets hope there are still a couple of old afsu
markers standing there 
as there should be
to give us the necessary terminal sight line along
aftm 
down the bluff & into the river
