Yes, I have seen it many times while on tour boat trips in the Thousand Islands,and each time the tour boat guide gave the same story, plus, that it is the shortest International Bridge. The US island is very small, but does have a small building on it. I can't give you an exact location since my topo program doesn't show some of the Canadian sections along the River.  It is north of Alexandria Bay, NY. If you have a better Map program, look in the vicinity of  44.374 deg. N,  75.902 deg. W.

  owned a smaller island that was on the US side of the border that was 
  connected by a small bridge - probably not more than 20 feet long. The 
  tour guide said that whenever the guy got mad at his wife, he would 
  leave the country (meaning walk across the small bridge to his other 
  island).
