No - I wouldn't mind the noise. But I wouldn't want to use it anywhere but the bathroom because the water apparently goes all over the place! So guess I'll have to stick with Tepes - they do a good job, as they go inbetween the gum and tooth when used properly. Certainly my mouth hygiene is good now - hygienist has worked with me for quite a while, and I now get 100% when I see her. Do you not have Tepes in the US? I couldn't live without them. Have looked at the site, and found Water Pik not the same.... Try here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kitty-Hydrofloss-Waterjet-Dental-Irrigator/dp/B001AIAMJK A review there says it is noisy- it has to do with the system against bacteria and the pulsing. It does make a noise. But my cats do not seem to mind :-) Namaste, Irene -- Irene de Villiers, B.Sc AASCA MCSSA D.I.Hom/D.Vet.Hom. P.O.
