Hmmm. Sounds a bit depressing. Think I'll have to ask my hygienist - she has lots of experience, and has always advised me well. I have a cordless electric toothbrush that I've had for about 3 years (Braun) The battery is now getting weaker, but as long as I recharge it every two or three days, or leave it on the charging base, it's fine. When it finally goes, I shall get another, as I think it has been worth the money.

You could use it at the kitchen sink?  Yeah yuk, but if that's the only choice, I would.  (Or, I'd just use it in the bathroom anyway...)  I used to use a cordless WaterPik and liked it very well, but they have this really stupid design, that you can't replace the battery.  So when the battery (started getting weaker and weaker and then) burnt out after six months and I realized it was dead, I was too disgusted to get another.  (It does come with I think a two-year warranty, but of course by then I had lost all the documentation.)   



My mother's bathroom was a sort of graveyard of cordless dental irrigators, and I guess now I know why!
