I listen drooling to my friend who stays in far north Queensland with family each year at his description of mangoes littered for miles with no one to pick them or pick them up being too expensive to warrant the work - I was up there in '77 and given a bag for free when visiting a cafe for lunch & ate them later dripping over the kitchen sink - but that's a tropical area - down here in Victoria it would be too cold too. I did plant a banana this year, (and a walnut, persimmon, a couple more lemons & olives) if the banana survives I might consider chasing a mango. Last year with gut problems I only ate mangoes & avocados for a few weeks .... > > I SO want a whole mango tree to myself - but apart from it being bigger > than my entire current property (which I might raise into it as a tree > house with a foofie slide) - it's not likely to survive where it is still > snowing here in April:-) > > Namaste, > Irene > -- > Irene de Villiers, B.Sc AASCA MCSSA D.I.Hom/D.Vet.Hom. > P.O.
