I've been folowing D'Adamo's type B blood type diet, even had the saliva test. I'm non-secretor which makes sense as do his modifications for type B foods for NS. It does help overall, digestion, etc. I have found some recommended foods/herbs do make me feel better right after eating, other not recommended feel worse. I have found less correlation with blood sugar readings, so while chicken is considered AVOID and he says causes insulin resistance, tried not eating chicken for a month and blood sugar was worse, when eating chicken, blood sugar got better, probably due to higher protein. But I do sometimes feel not right after eating chicken. Onions and oregano are definite plusses for me and shiitake mushrooms, considered SUPER BENEFICIAL, always feel much better with those. He seems correct about needing xtra probiotics for type B, always have tendency for dysbiosis candida and taking high dose probiotics is helpful. I read his "... For Your Blood Type" book years back, but will look for this one too. Hi Shannon, Dr Peter D'Adamo, has done research that divides people into a few groups (5 or 6 or 7?) each of which has a set of common genes and sensitivities. So he has named each group (names like explorer, nomad, teacher, etc) and he describes each group in general, gives how to determine your group, based on phenotype (body proportions, fingerprint types, finger lengths and blood type etc) and lists the foods which work for each group in general - it's in his "Genotype Diet" book.
