RECALL OF DIAMOND AND OTHERS UNDER THEIR BRAND:

There is salmonella in the chicken of two brands I often recommend: Diamond Naturals Active Cat and Costco Kirkland adult cat........both by Diamond. There are many other brand names involved as well...

If your cat/dog is getting salmonella symptoms (diarrhea and maybe vomiting) - try ARSENICUM ALBUM aqueous, in accordance with symptoms -  as first aid. ALso Vit C. If it does not resolve fast, ask your homeopath for more advice.

GUT PROTOCOL
For a large cat (half for small cats and kittens, more for dogs):

Add daily to food:
1 teaspoon plain cooked pumpkin (can be canned but not spiced)
1 teaspoon plain rice bran (Ener-G is a good brand but use what you find)
1/4 teaspoon Brewer's yeast (or food yeast)
500mg Taurine
10 mg PABA (Para amino benzoic acid vitamin). Mix a 100mg capsule content with a bit of sugar, spread on a plate and divide by ten.
A pinch of plain bifidus POWDER (such as Bifidyn by Source naturals)
1 Teaspoon of Slippery elm syrup made like so:

* Slippery elm syrup: Sprinkle 1 teasp slippery elm bark powder onto
half a cup of water. Heat with stirring till nearly boiling, and keep
the thickened syrup in the fridge.
It coats and soothes the intestines and has a few
good nutrients. It works well in cats. (Not all herbs do.)
[When looking for the herb powder (or capsules to use emptied out) look
for the grey/green colour powder, as it gels well - the red/orange does
not form syrup properly.]

Diamond is changing their chicken supplier but new good food may take a while. Per Diamond,  new food to be on Florida shelves on Wednesday. I do not know about other areas.

Amazon is refunding money for all Diamond Pet food orders back to January.
Costco is refunding money paid as well, even if you tossed the bags - just return what's left, they can look up purchases to confirm you bought it.
