just saw it as part of a response.....

This is 100% typical Ars at 15 - and they do not necessarily outgrow it :-)
The wife of an Ars I know, has used the following tactic:
Knowing he likes beautiul woodwork, she bought him a lovely wood chest, which is at the entry to their bedroom. It is beautiful enough that she can persuade him to start dropping clothing into it instead of strewing it on the floor as he goes into the bedroom, undressing.
At age 15 he was asked to tidy his room. Typical Ars, can do almost anything they WANT to do, but will not do what does nto suit them personally. His answer: Why? The floor's not full yet, I can still get to my bunkbed."

Not so much OCD as that Ars gets a thing about what is okay for their health and what is not, without proper logic to it, especially where they think it affects their health - hypochondriac-ish or unreasonable fears concerning their health. Fanatisim about health rather than OCD.

yes but that does not count - it is HIS dirt etc, so will not hurt his health. It isn't about dirt for Ars, it's about their perceived personal health risk, and they are not seeing reality here. Ars will rationalize anything that doesn't quite make sense, to make it seem logical to themselves when it really isn't.
