I was able to connect with Mark Mallett who at the time operated MV Communications, a small ISP that did a HUGE amount to knit together the early Internet community of south central New Hampshire (“MV” = “Merrimack Valley”, a region in southern NH). Mark confirmed the information Greg had found. The upstream connections from MV were “harvard" and “decvax”, so if my memory had a “vax” in it, my UUCP address I was telling people was probably “decvax!mv!srbci!ldy”.
