Something I was thinking about recently, which if not part of wikinews project
would be an interesting project in its own right, would be simply a free,
online news clearing house. By this I mean a central point to which people may
send press releases, then projects like wikinews could pick up those press
releases more easily to form stories.

Any ideas on this? The hard part would be making it big enough to gain the
critical mass needed for it to become the obvious first point of contact.
Second hard part, which if tackled successfully would help make it popular,
would be organising categories etc so that submitted press releases are quickly
located by authors. Both of these wikipedia probably has tackled quite well
already in its existing formats, but I doubt that this falls strictly into the
wiki model, and I suppose it would be seen as a burden by wikietc mob.
