          "Infrangible" comes to us via Middle French from the Late Lati=
n =E2=80=9Cinfrangibilis=E2=80=9D and is ultimately derived from the pre=
fix =E2=80=9Cin-=E2=80=9D and the Latin verb =E2=80=9Cfrangere,=E2=80=9D=
 meaning "to break." (Believe it or not, our "break" is ultimately deriv=
ed from the same ancient word that gave rise to =E2=80=9Cfrangere.=E2=80=
=9D) "Infrangible" first appeared in print in English in the 16th centur=
y with the literal meaning "impossible to break"; it was later extended =
metaphorically to things that cannot or should not be broken.
