John, You can tell whoever requested the info that they can search for free the last five years of all federal and state appellate opinions. Here's a posting I had on my weblog, www.outoftheboxlawyering.com: "How to find out FOR FREE whether an expert has been named in a state or federal appellate opinion during the last five years Did you know that Lexis has a free service lexisone.com in which you can search the past five years of all state and federal appellate opinions using Lexis's regular search strategy? And it's not limited to expert-searching. You can do ANY normal Lexis-type searching for the past five years again FOR FREE! The lexisone interface for searching is not as easy to use as the normal Lexis, but you can't beat the price. If you have a Lexis or Westlaw subscription for only your state, this is also a CHEAP way to find and print a case that has been mentioned recently in a newspaper, legal article, or whatever. You can't Shepardize what you find for free, but you can pay a small fee to Lexis for that. And you don't have to have a regular Lexis account anyone can register from this free (did I say that too often?) service." The link to the posting is http://www.outoftheboxlawyering.com/archives/000004.html. Hope this helps them. P.S. The free service includes Lexis. It does not include Nexis. --- In [email protected], "John DeBruyn" <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi all, > > I am forwarding this from the Network-Lawyers outpost at Orkut the Google > experiment in social networking: > > -----Original Message----- > From: Jiri Slovacek [mailto:[email protected]] > Sent: Thursday, April 22, 2004 6:56 PM > To: John DeBruyn > Subject: lexus nexus access > > > hi folks, > > is there anybody who would help us to gain the access to lexus nexus? we are > busy with a few research projects on american law - but still suffer from > lack of information that we suppose we would find in lexus nexus.. > > Jiri (Masaryk University, Czech Republic) > > This message was sent by Jiri Slovacek to Network-Lawyers. > > * * * > > http://www.orkut.com/ > > Forwarded by John DeBruyn, Denver CO USA ------------------------ Yahoo!
