Stewart, For the money, I don't think you can get a better scanner than the Visioneer 9750. It comes bundled with the most recent edition of Paperport which converts everything to PDF as it scans, and I think it's just awesome! I demoed it for Visioneer last year, and have referred them about 15 - 20 other customers who are all very pleased. It's a 20 PPM scanner that does legal and letter size, with a 50 page document feeder. It's just under $1,000, and I have really put this thing through it's paces, without failure. As an aside, I recently came across another great program that might interest you if you regularly do Powerpoint presentations. It's called Articulate Presenter, and it's featured on www.internetaudioguy.com. Mike Stewart, the operator of that site, is an expert in Internet audio, and presentation software. Articulate Presenter allows you to take a Powerpoint presentation, and seamlessly convert it to flash with narration. You can then stream it from the Web, or burn it down to a CD. It's absolutely incredible! Mike used to do the flash conversions manually, and he says they would take all day to do what Articulate Presenter will do in minutes. He's got some demos on his site to show you how it works, and how the finished product looks, so be sure to check it out. If I can help in any other way, please let me know. Warmest regards, Glenn K. Not surprisingly, I will be addressing various tech-type issues. The tenative title for the presentation is: "Ten or Twenty Ways to Spend Your Money on Things You Didn't Think You Really Need, but Really Do" Any suggestions from this group would be greatly appreciated. I think one of the important pieces of equipment any new practitioner needs is a good scanner with a paper feed. Any specific suggestions as to the type of scanner that might fill this bill would be particularly appreciated. ******************************************** Stuart Levine Fisher & Winner, LLP 315 North Charles Street Baltimore, Maryland 21201 Telephone: 410.385.2000 Telecopier: 443.927.7075 Cellphone: 410.802.5817 Weblog: http://taxbiz.blogspot.com http://www.taxation-business.com [email protected] ********************************************* -/-/-/-/-/ There is a read/write Web page with resources that will be linked there and used during the Seminar on PDFs for lawyers and legal applications: http://Network-Lawyers.org/PDFLinks -/-/-/-/-/ Yahoo!
