I know I am being decidedly non-technical in my response to all of this CD stuff. My mother is 87 and in ill health. I have a computer generated piece of paper which has all the information necessary for emergency care, including her meds and dosages, as well as a brief medical history. When we go in, I give it to the admitting personnel, who copy it, give it back, and it goes into her file and is immediately available to the doctors and nurses. I also carry one with the same type of information for me. Nobody has to find a CD reader and then print out the information to give to the doctors and nurses. Nobody has to worry about compatibility. Takes a lot less time in an emergency situation. Plus...EMT's don't have CD readers on them. It will allow someone at the scene of an accident to have immediate access to one's medical information.

Sorry. Sometimes, technology just takes longer when you least can afford the time.
