Bob - congrats on the no spam and I do hope you have not curse yourself. My
guess, and it is only a guess is that because your comment plug-in from
Haloscan runs the html links through haloscan that their would be no
benefits to spammers as they would not be getting links. It may also be that
spam comments could not even reach your blog through the haloscan plug-in.
Note that the haloscan feature runs ads on the bottom of the comments
window.
As folks may know, blogs run using different software, some of which does
not have a comment feature. This was especially the case with early
software. In which case, a comment tool would be plugged in. I see that on a
number of older popular blogs like yours Bob, as well as Denise Howell's Bag
and Baggage which uses a comment plug in from 'Rate your Music' called
YACCS. The same thing with hers - the link goes through 'Rate your Music.'
I still like MT 3 because of the additional features it has for comments as
well additional features. I posted on this subject last night on my blog at:
