I use Vonage as a second (a fourth actually, since we get two free 
lines with Cable) line over the ADSL attached to our British Telecom 
service. That gives us a NYC telephone number in London, England, for 
$15 a month. (Cable doesn't offer Internet service in our neighborhood, 
so we're stuck with at least one BT line.)

I read recently that Bangalore is full of mothers who have Vonage 
phones with the 650 area code so that their calls to family in 
California are local...
