Explain what you are trying to accomplish.  I would look at ISYS, see ISYS-search.com.  It is the search engine which powers Worlddox.  They also have a free time limited demo.

will the copernic desktop search or the google desktop search work in
a cd if you index before you write the disk? I have no idea, but I
like the copernic desktop search of the harddrives I use at the
office.
