We have released the Justia Lawyer Directory to allow USA lawyers to
claim and update their profiles.

The url is...

Having a full listing on the directory is free, and those who claim
their profiles can also have their profiles on Cornell's LII version
of the lawyer directory at http://lawyers.law.cornell.edu



WHAT YOUR CAN ADD TO YOUR PROFILE

Of course you can add your basic info, education, work, publications,
talks etc... etc... as well as

- your Website(s),

- your blogs, and we will also include your blog feeds with links to
your latest posts,

- your social networks, including linkedin, facebook and twitter
-- your twitter feed can also be included in your profile, with the
latest status update on the top of your profile page, as well as
included in our continuously updated legaltweets from all of the
legalbirds in the directory who use twitter (see below for more on
that),

- links to profiles on other legal websites, including our friends at
avvo, nolo and jdsupra
-- you can also bring your jdsupra feed of documents for inclusion
into your publications section

- videos from youtube (we will expand this)

and there are many other features live (and many more under development).

Again it is free to have a full profile with as many features as we have.





PRODUCE OR SUPPORT FREE LEGAL INFO ONLINE AND SHOW UP HIGHER
Promoting those who provide and support free legal information online
is going to be a big focus of this project.

We give higher placement in the listings to those who help support
free legal information. This includes bloggers who have had their blog
editorially included in Justia's BlawgSearch.com (which is free),
supporters of Cornell's Legal Information Institute, lawyers listed in
Nolo who have been verified and taken the Nolo pledge and our own
clients (whose funds we use to put up more free stuff). We give extra
ranking placement to those who claim and fill out their profile, as
well as participate in community areas such as twitter.

We are also going to be working with others on the directory soon, as
well as provide additional ways for lawyers to get higher rankings by
participating and adding free legal content for the community.

CORNELL BADGE OF SUPPORT
We and the Legal Information Institute are rewarding those lawyers who
financially support the LII at Cornell Law School and its missions of
putting up more free legal information with higher rankings and karma
points .

The Cornell LII support starts at $250 a year and gets you a badge and
higher rankings on the search and listing pages of Justia and Cornell
LII's (http://lawyers.law.cornell.edu) directory.

First, you do not need to pay to be in the Cornell directory (just
claim and update your profile - it is free) and this will not impact
the content that you have on your profile, outside of giving you a
beautiful LII badge.

Support will get you higher placement on the directory listings pages
of one of the greatest and highest trafficked US legal websites there
is. And LII is going to take the funds, hire Cornell computer science
and law folks and put up even more free info online. From a pure
online legal marketing standpoint, this is a very good deal (I know
our clients are going to be support the LII :).  All amounts collected

this page has a list of  all of the profiles of lawyers that have blog
feeds in our directory. Those that have submitted their blog to
Justia's BlawgSearch.com  also get a badge and higher rankings in the
list (submitting to BlawgSearch.com is free, and all selections are
made on an editorial basis).

these are lawyers who have entered in their twitter feed into their
profile the Justia directory. (we call them legal birds -- and got the
domain name legalbirds.com and redirected it to this page :)

(and we have redirected legaltweets.com to this page :)





ok... to wrap things up for tonight....
A few people stumbled into the directory and have updated their
profiles while we played with the interface (true alpha testers).
after watching some clients work through it, we made pushed big
changes live on Wednesday night, so it should be a bit more intutitve.
That said, the directory is still in the beginning states, and we will
be making lot's of improvements, updates and additions for the
foreseeable (and unforeseeable) future.

Again getting a full profile is free :) and if you support the online
community of free information, by blogging or supporting the LII you
will get karma, higher directory rankings and hopefully more clients
:)
