Hi John,
=20
Been a long time.
=20
What is Google Wave?
=20
Hope all is going well with you. I am just starting to climb out of the=20
hole that my very expensive divorce cost me, and at the moment I am=20=20
basically starting my life over at 53. But it is finally starting to come =
 together=20
after about a year and a half.
=20
I actually had to "short sell" my house and took a bath on it, so that I =
=20
had to walk away from it with not a single penny. But I did sell it, so I =
=20
did not have to abandon the property to the bank, and thus saved my credit =
=20
rating a bit. Although my credit rating is pretty mediocre right now, I am=
=20=20
hoping that with all the things I am finally doing, it will start to get=20
back up where it should be.
=20
In addition, I am working with my life partner, she is an attorney, on=20=20
some Megan's Law sex offender stuff. In NJ, the Megan's Law is absolutely =
=20
abhorrent, and while there are many sex offenders who should be 'drawn and =
=20
quartered' there are also many who have been caught by a net that catches t=
he=20=20
"Dolphin along with the Tuna." The more I get into it, the more amazingly =
=20
ridiculous the law is.
=20
In a recent Federally funded study of sex offender legislation, it was=20=20
found that Megan's Law in NJ failed on every count:
=20
    1) Failed to reduce the number of sex offenses in NJ
    2) Failed to reduce the rate of re-offense of sex offenders
    3) Failed to reduce the severity of re-offense
=20
The law is basically a total disaster and it does two things:
=20
    A) Gives the people of NJ a false sense of security.
    B) Is leading to a bill in the NJ Assembly that will allow=20
Municipalities to declare "sex offender free zones" thus creating "sex off=
ender=20
ghettos." (The law prohibits towns from making their entire municipality i=
nto a=20
'sex offender free zone.' In any case, it is very interesting work and we=
=20
get paid by the State of NJ through the Public Defender's office.
=20
How goes it with you? Retired yet?
=20
Most Sincerely,
=20
