Maar het is me wel bijgebleven: die ruimtepiloot was ik zelf, en het jongetje ook, alleen, zeg, een veertig jaar eerder, en het bos was gewoon een boom ergens in mijn hoofd. =20 Daar speelt alles zich af, en heeft alles zich afgespeeld, daar liggen ze, glimmend gepoetst, op de vensterbank; mijn moeder schenkt thee in, straks komt mijn vader thuis. Je kan niets begraven, al zou je het willen: daar onder de schedel woelt en woekert het toch weer omhoog, spreidt zijn bladeren, zet = vrucht. =20 Ach, het waren maar zes of zeven kastanjes: ze lagen tussen twee bloempotten in op een vensterbank, glimlachend met hun bruine spiegeloogjes. En een zonnestelsel later sluit mijn hand zich er plots weer omheen en speelt dan trots met het zakmes van mijn vader. =20 =20 C.
