Project Gutenberg #7000!

Today we celebrate the presentation of Project Gutenberg's #7000,
70% of the way to our original goal of 10,000 FREE eBooks.

And, for those who said we could not keep up with Moore's Law in
"modern times". . .we have to say that we are just about exactly
on the Moore's Law schedule from when we had 4,292 eBooks at the
end of 2001.

Project Gutenberg's 2002 Growth Rate Was ~98.87% Of Moore's Law.
We did 6,743 out of the 6,789 = 158.74% of 2001s 4,292 total!!!

Incidentally, Moore's Law's 158.74% of 6,743 = 10,703 for 2003--
anyone wanna bet a Giordano's stuffed mushroom pizza?!?!?!?!?!?!

To keep up with Moore's Law in 2003 we have to do nearly 4,000 [3,960] eBooks,
that's about 75 per week.  So far we have done 258 eBooks in the last 4 weeks
and one hour. . .already surpassing our previous record of 250, and we still
have nearly a week to go!  We should be able to get to 300 for this month!!!
But 300 per month is only a yearl totaly of 3600, so we will have to reset
our goals to 100 per week somewhere around our 32nd Anniversary on July 4th.

We have done 3,270 eBooks in the last 18 months, obviously Moore's Law would
require 3,500 in the 18 months prior to hitting 7,000, but we were ahead of
that schedule by a little bit, so we are still in the running. . . .

Hmmm. . .running. . .reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. . . .
