Sonny Bono was a major copyright holder.... he had personal reasons to get
the extension passed and I doubt that he would be so inclined to get it
revoked/changed even if he were not dead.

With all those paper-based books, nearly freed into the Public Domain, who
had their sentence extended by Mr. Bono's work, is it any wonder that he was
killed (murdered?) by a tree??  ;)
