There are quite a few budget airlines over here ( try 
http://www.easyjet.co.uk/ ) which might be able to get you from 
somewhere in mainland Europe to somewhere in the UK relatively cheaply. 
Flights from Amsterdam to Liverpool start from EUR 17.99 single, 
excluding taxes, depending on the day & time you want to fly.
