My tablet is 2560x1536.  My monitor is 1280x1024 (granted, it's not the newest
monitor).  By those standards the *tablet* is inflated.  At any rate, the image
size you used is still larger than the maximum recommended by the FAQs.

I would suggest that the FAQs be changed so
1) The maximum image resolution is doubled to 200 dpi and 1200 pixels wide.
(Bear in mind that this would be a maximum--not every image is this big).
2) The recommended maximum image file size is increased by enough to
accommodate that.  Probably 200K (4 times the existing recommendation), maybe
less if the size needed doesn't scale with the number of pixels (which I
don't know much about).

If you're on a slow connection, download the version without images or
download ahead of time.

Optionally, change the epub generation so that it generates a third epub
version with medium sized images, but I don't know how one would go about doing
that.
