But problematically, there are a lot of people who DON'T want to read through a browser on either a PC, Mac or a PDA. The various problems/complaints I have heard have been: - Too much flicker - Too hard on the eyes because of contrast/lighting - Screen too small - Not portable enough (referencing laptops) None of these are a problem for me. I read on a browser constantly, and for that matter from Adobe, MS Word, etc. and I never notice flicker or contrast issues. But for some reason there are people who are insistent that the ebook platform be perfect. I've read many an hour from a PDA, either Palm-based or MSWindows based, while sitting in doctor's offices, airports and on flights. Got a great deal of enjoyment from it, too. It was absolutely no more strain on my eyes than reading from the N.Y. Times or the WSJ... in fact, the WSJ print edition is HARDER on the eyes.
