I'd say that what Joel found is that you can't buy a DRM'd Mobipocket file from the 
Mobipocket website, download it to the Kindle by USB, and read it.  However, Amazon's 
Kindle Store apparently pulls a copy from Mobipocket, converts it to ASZ format for use on 
your personal Kindle, and then auto-delivers it to your device.  So you're still buying a 
DRM'd ebook from Mobipocket, just indirectly.
